The Annual Hui 2023

Get ready for a day of connecting, learning, reflecting on human rights in the last year and looking to the future.

When: Saturday 17 June 2023
Where: Tāmaki Makaurau - Parkside Hotel, 100 Greys Avenue, Auckland Central
Times: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm with an optional social gathering from 5:30 pm
Virtual attendance : $0
In person attendance: $0 - $25
Contributions will help cover costs of catering and running the hui. However, we don't want cost to stop you from attending, so only contribute as much as you can afford.

What to Expect:

Join us to hear some inspiring stories from our speakers, connect with other people passionate about human rights, and contribute your ideas to our future direction.

Our key speakers for this year’s Annual Hui include:

  • Dr Anjhula Mya Singh Bais, International Board Chair, Amnesty International (based in Malaysia and travelling to Auckland)
  • Deborah Manning, refugee rights lawyer

There will be a collective human rights action to mark the 75 year anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Dove Awards will be presented to some of our fantastic Amnesty community members.

In the afternoon the Annual General Meeting will take place. A chance to reflect on the past year and for you to contribute to the future of Amnesty.

In the evening there will be an optional social gathering with light food and refreshments.
