Submission on the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System
The following is Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand's submission on the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System and Children and Young People’s Commission Bill (the Bill).
We have serious concerns about the Bill. We strongly recommend progress on the Bill be paused so issues raised can be thoroughly worked through in partnership with Māori, and space created for greater engagement, including with tamariki and young people.
