Our essential rights are increasingly under attack

Globally, we are witnessing the spread of authoritarian practices along with the introduction of laws, policies and processes eroding human rights. We see the basis of our humanity, our inherent dignity, our access to fairness, justice and inclusion being steadily eaten away. Our essential right to participation, our collective entitlement to democratic consultation being repeatedly undermined.

No country is immune, not even Aotearoa.

To protect our collective right to a thriving, healthy society, Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand is calling people to stand and resist with us.

If you care enough to question, you care enough to act.

Here are 3 ways to resist:

Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand is part of a 10 million-strong global movement of people who stand for universal access to fairness, justice, dignity, expression and inclusion - our essential civil rights. Standing together, our shared humanity holds the power to create change.
