YOUR WORDS CHANGE LIVES
Write for Rights brings millions of compassionate people together – because when we challenge injustice, we change lives
Write for Rights is the world’s biggest human rights event. It’s a moment when Amnesty International’s movement of ten million comes together as one to take action and stand up for freedom, justice and equality.
Every year people from 170 countries take action – writing letters, signing petitions, and much more – telling governments to challenge injustice and right wrongs.
Our collective action pressures authorities around the world to bring those responsible for human rights abuses to justice, and free people wrongfully imprisoned.
Every year, real change happens because people like you take action.
Together, our voices are powerful enough to challenge injustice and change the world.

Write for Rights Wins
Writing a letter, sending a Tweet, signing a petition – surely you can’t change the world with something so simple? Yes, you can!
Letter-writing has always been at the heart of Amnesty International’s work, and 59 years of activism shows us that words have power. Last year we sent over 4.4 million messages from 170 countries and territories – and it worked.
